Umm...it's a matter of time before - - -

You see, the internet will become some sort of 'neural net' in the next few years.

You will see MUCH more VPN connections between users without the use of centralized servers.

How then will the DMCA have any bite?

And sooner or later, someone WILL create a killer program that will accomplish just that.

And the MPAA/RIAA can't stick their noses into anything - only the courts could - MAYBE.

If congress would pass laws that STOP the extreme corporate greed, then problems would subside.

What I am saying is this: Abolish ALL copyright laws and start over. Force the expiration of all copyrights to 3-4 years after their creation. And NO cross conversion to patents. No patenting of things that should have been copyrighted.

This would fix Sooooooooooo many problems.

The world will become very stagnant if the current laws are kept in place. Original creativity, sooner or later, will stop growing. There are just so many ideas that can be original before becoming derivitive works.

Here's one more thought:

The 'D' in DMCA means digital.
Let's convert everything into analog then the DMCA won't apply.

The internet and everything about it, on it, and in it should be free - a free exchange if information, just as it was intended.

And hold the infringer responsible for the infringement, not the hosting site - the authors should police their own material, not make others do their dirty work for them.
