Payola still rules the day
Clearly the threat of the internet is that buyers will be exposed to something other than what the RIAA companies want them to hear. This must be crushed at all costs. Sure, in the long run it means fewer music fans and the death of the music industry eventually, but who thinks long term? Get me a hooker and some blow and I'm happy today.
