Isn't a criminal record more damaging to these kids than naked photos?
According to the majority opinion, prosecuting these teens in court is justified because "if these pictures are ultimately released, future damage may be done to these minors' careers or personal lives." Frankly, few people will care that these teens starred in their own private XXX photo collection, but isn't being labeled as "child pornographers" much more likely to damage their careers for the rest of their lives? And, isn't being hauled before a judge more traumatic than the minimal chance that the pictures might circulate to a few people? Teens have been doing stupid things forever -- and going on to live happy, productive, moral lives. As long as the kids don't hurt themselves or others, adults need to get a life.

There used to be a saying among young people that "you can't trust anyone over 30." When it comes to FL lawmakers and judges, I'd be inclined to agree (I'm 47, by the way).
