Yeah that's silly
I've read the Bible a few times, don't remember that one but then there is a lot I don't remember. It isn't the easiest book to read.

I've always felt there is suffering in this world because of few reasons. One is free will that causes lots of problems but I'd have no other way and I'm glad God gave us that even though it causes no end of problems. The other reason for suffering is we live in a that in my opinion is pretty amazing. Thing is we are like bacteria on the skill of large creature if that creature scratches it kill the bacteria. That bacteria can benifit the creature or harm it and the creature has built in immunities to keep the bacteria in check. So we are the bacteria, one of many types, on the skin of the planet. The planet some times has to scratch and itch and other times has to just get rid of some of the inhabitants on the planet. So disease and natural disasters occur to keep us and everything else in check. Free will though has allowed us to halt some disease and minimize some natural disasters and means those who should have died with little suffering end living and in some cases suffering for thier entire lives. We choose to do that.

So in your case. What if we never found insulin or chose not to use it. Diabetics would have died. If the disease was genitic as they think it is today then might not that disease disappear or only show up in rare instances. Instead we chose to cure the disease but the cure has complications and maybe that's why more people have problems and suffer because of that rather then being dead. So is the trade off good? I don't know as I don't have a disease like that yet. But I think I'd rather live then die depending on how much suffering it was.
