I think you are wrong voska
Tape trading clubs and snail mailing music was done only by a small percentage of audiophiles and others. It barely put a dent in the cash flow of the music industry. Most people who live an honest life have never even heard of a "tape club" You are really stretching on this one.....really.
With downloaded music it's much much different. If it's not protected by physical means, meaning it takes effort to trade your music, then even honest people start to believe it's free for them to distribute. They've figured out email attachments by now, these otherwise honest people but the ease of sharing has simply become too great and more than anything, without the physical media it feels like the force of law has been stripped off and mostly taken away even misleading honest people.
