Is excactly what a DRM free world is, a few geeks might download DRM cracks must normal PC users have never downloaded anything in their lives never mind a crack program (not counting virus etc).

It's the 'do as you wish (within the law of course) quote that shows how abusrd not having DRM is. People steal if they think they can get away with it and at the moment most of the time they can. Do you really think someone is going to say 'hey i won't pirate that song because its depriving artists of income'?
That is extremely naive.

Some sort of standard for DRM is probably a good idea I suspect what will happen in the end is several different versions will compete one will come up top and basically become a monopoly.

Same as with OS's, if Microsoft hasn't grabbed 95% of the market some other company was going too
