Look at the precedent that Australia is trying for! They are trying to make all criminals able to be held after their sentences are done with if they are 'prone to re-offend', a loaded phrase if I ever heard one.
Not just sex offenders (who reoffend LESS often than people who steal cars!), but all 'criminals'.
The world needs to realize that we are truly going down the road to a world where 'Big Brother', the all-knowing, totally wrong-headed religious zealot and nut, is going to be looking over our shoulders and telling us and our children what we can and can't do.
What we need to cut down on the number of 'sex offenders' is to immediately declare it legal for adults to ask children down to the age of 2 whether they can touch them sexually as long as they do it in front of parents, immediately pass laws saying that parents CANNOT interfere in their children's sexual choices as long as that child can say 'yes' and 'no' by themselves, and immediately pass laws that put girls on birth control at the age of 7 and that give boys free condoms at that same age so that girls will not get pregnant 'accidentally' (but we all know that most 'accidental' teenage pregnancies are NOT accidents at all!). - Posted by: Leria Posted on: 01/31/07 You are currently: a Guest | Members login | Terms of Use
