Not a good standard
After all, if it's good enough for Walmart's CIO...

CIO's are notoriously risk adverse, to the wretched extreme in some cases. If the SCO case doesn't give you confidence in Linux from a liability perspective then you could have dead ancestors coming back to life and you wouldn't believe them, either.

CIO's are managers, many of whom have more business background than IT. If that's your choice then your company deserves what it gets.

I think what this really shows is that the Novell deal was MSFT recognizing that if they didn't partner with Linux they were going to lose even more market share. But instead of just making the deal MSFT tried to make the deal their way. It's not going to work this time. Ballmer can make all the FUD noise he wants but until MSFT...or anyone for that matter...actually points out what exactly they think infringes, it's all hot air.
