Well, if they ain't a going to allow Firefox, they won't allow random
EXE downloads either. So these companies ain't a goin' to be using any rich web applications either proprietary Microsoft, OR open source in such a case.

When I talked about proprietary web sites, I was talking web sites that use proprietary IE functions so that if you use any other browser than IE, some things do not work. Those are disapearing fast as people become more aware and alternate browser usage grows, though I encountered one just last week.

And, you argue so well why Microsoft should not be allowed to bundle IE with the OS. Pretty much kills competition, especially where they do NOT want two browsers installed.

Also, remember, OS is not a company, it can NOT own standards. Open source is very standars friendly though.
