You are All Experts
Your reactions are understandable. You are all experts. You spent 12 or more years in classrooms being taught by teachers, textbooks, and blackboards. I'm over 50 years old, and I haven't done anything as long as I was in school "learning to be taught."

The problem is that in a time of rapid change, we do not need a work force that knows how to be taught. We need a workforce and citizens who know how to teach themselves. This, I believe, is what Brown is talking about, creating learning environments where students learn to teach themselves, guided by skilled and creative teachers, within learning environments of conversation.
