"Oh you are just plain disagreeable. Who are you kidding?"

Just exploring the logic, I suppose.

"No, the theory revolves around people have to take care of themselves."

An interesting idea, but I'm unfamiliar with the axioms you use to arrive at the statement that "people have to take care of themselves."

"Your problem is, you want the government to take on everyone's problem."

Nope. I'm playing a bit of Devil's Advocate, and trying to figure out the logic a bit.

"Self determined suicidal cannot be fixed unless they want to be fixed."

Most of the time, they do want to be fixed, they just don't know how, or they just can't do it by themselves. It is actually pretty rare that they reach the point of "self determined suicidal."

You're right, though. This can actually be helped with an overhaul of our medical system, starting with privatization. Personally, I'd love to see privatization of our system, as you are right that the federal government is an inappropriate level to solve the problem. I think the resources should be available to people who want help, but they should be localized and closer to home.

Anyways, back to the subject . . .

The biggest problem I see, I suppose, with online gambling is the technical problems (hacking, phishing, etc). Perhaps we can drop the total ban, but require some sort of assurance of integrity.
