so, what about the cost?
"Day trading is gambling also. Most people lose money on that. Why wasn't that banned? Because the shares are recorded and can be taxed."

Nice theory.

"Government? I do not believe so."

Perhaps not to you individually (with 300 million people in the USA, it is impossible), but they are supposed to care about the concerns of the general population. After all, they (or their party) do wish to get re-elected, do they not?

"That is a fact."

That's nice.

"But you didn't come up with a solution."

Neither did you.

"And besides, I do not want them to fix it."

It remains a problem, then.

"I do not want the government to protect people from themselves. That is the individual's responsibility."

Interesting philosophy. What is the basis of that philosophy?

"Addictions has been with us since time began."

Agreed.

"Only the individual must take responsibility for themselves or they don't mature."

If the cost of the maturing of the individual is the ruin of the individual's family, is the benefit worth the cost?

"You know prohibition did not work."

Agreed. The proposed solution did not really solve the problem, and in fact created more problems.
