For some applications, there is already very little difference, for others,
there will be new browser execution engines, and OpenGL access that will make the performance differences mute. Do not forget that bandwidth is going up as we speak. And finally, current applications such as Google Earth, already rely on the Internet their data stream.

Also, a good CPU will be just as important for Web Applications since many will use scripts. Graphics performance will also be important for the best experience with Web Applications. Now, the hard drive will be losing importance. Expect to see flash based web stations in the future, with fast CPUs, graphics, and lots of memory.
