The man behind the curtains would be Fidel Castro
.. and has been since February 7, 1962. It has survived presidential administrations Democrat and Republican, from the left to the right and in between, from activist to caretaker for one reason, and one reason only: Fidel Castro has refused to allow even a plebiscite on his reign as this hemishperes most repressive dictator.

Democratic reform in Cuba wouldn't be a bad idea either. Heck, I am sure that the goverment of the United States of America wouldn't care if the Gambina Family ran the place. At least it would run, and there would be elections.

Only owing to the fact that we are not the war-mongering imperialists that every elitist loser makes us out to be do we allow it to continue. At any time from april 15, 1961 we could have gone in, taken over the place, and installed any given resident of Little Havana to run the place.
