Oh come on now

That was what? 50 years ago? The nukes were from a dead regime that doesn't exist anymore and those nukes were in direct response for the US putting nukes on the USSR back door in Turkey.

Now you have the US being buddy buddy with China, a country that is far more dangerous than Cuba ever could be. Yet the US deal with china.

This is silly. The US has just put a fence around Cuba and Castro doesn't seem to mind on bit as it helps him keep power. So as far as I see the US is proping castro up. Maybe it's a case of keeping the enemy you know vs possibly getting an enemy you don't know. Or maybe the US just doesn't care what happens in Cuba as Cuba has nothing of value that the US wants, if Cuba had oil you'd see a different stance by the US.
