- If you counted the number of times large companies

Do just what you are saying, on a daily basis, you'd have to buy a larger harddrive to keep the list. It's total Bull$hit. Apple had nothing to do with the GUI. They may have bullied the copyright, so they thought, from PARC but they invented nothing. They have zero innovation to their name yet so many bow to Jobs.
If Jobs was a smart man, he would have ported the Apple OS to the IBM PC at the time MS started building MS-DOS. Or at least when it was clear Microsoft was the ONLY OS the hardware resellers had to load on their PCs? What other OS was ready to go that PC makers turned down? Name one viable competitor, way way before MS was big enough to use it's weight, that was turned down by PC makers? None? That's what I thought.
You know PC Makers were run by businessmen just like they are now. If there had been an OS they thought would sell and turn a profit for them, they would not have wente exclusive with Microsoft. Dell is leaning toward selling Linux. If MS has the power you speak of, why don't they simply command the vendors to not think of it. It's because it's busines and MS never had an magic clout..they had a great offering dude. Get it thru your head. If linux desktop became popular for some reason in the next year, guess what. PC makers would be all over it to get linux installed on PCs as well.
You are just like the rest. You have no concept of capitalism. You are idealist and think things should go as you wish they would and anyone that interferes with your way of thinking is wrong. You have no objective thought capacity. - Posted by: April May Posted on: 11/02/06 You are currently: a Guest | Members login | Terms of Use
