Investigate them all for sure!!!
All these software and internet service companies want their proprietary rights protected to death; god forbid that someone gets something for free or makes a dime off something they feel is theirs. Fine, fair enough. What is theirs is theirs and what is ours is ours. There is no reasonable or rational explanation as to why any of these companies should be allowed to monitor the activities of the average citizens on the internet, which is a public infrastructure owned by none of them.

It is common knowledge that one of the reasons the internet has managed to work as well as it has is that reasonable degrees of privacy has been afforded on the net. Now these companies are seeking to reduce what privacy there has been down to as close to zero as can be, and this is not right unless they are willing to pay what ever we ask for "our" information. We would not allow the phone companies to listen into our phone calls to establish consumer profiles on individuals and there is no rational reason why any company should be allowed to do a similar thing over the internet. If they want to use our private information, which belongs to each individual they should have to pay whatever we as individuals ask for such information and be required to only use it according to what ever end user agreement each individual wishes to implement. Otherwise they can go get stuffed.
