You bust me up.
You think any of the companines lined up against MS during the antitrust case would have done differently? You are crazy if you think so. There was NO public outcry. This was all about money and it was politically divided. Every bit of it was about money. Total hypocrisy. As opposed to the IBM antitrust years...what 13 years in antitrust court? Or the breakup of AT&T, the founder of the Unix model now being mimiced by open source. More hypocrisy.
At the same time the antitrust case was going on, the Clinton Administration signed off on a measure to repeal the Glass-Steagall act and to permit the creation of gigantic financial comglomorates. Talk about conflicts of interest, these giant corporations could then combine insurance, banking and stock market speculation.
Microsoft paid a price because they were good.
Had there been the least amount of public outcry over this from those who had no vested interest nor bias, it would carry some weight. but it was ALL about money so give it a rest would you. That is growing so tiresome. You could be throwing the same $hit up about dozens of different companies.
I'm not an MS apologist. I don't think there was anything to apologize for to begin with.
You crack me up as much as the fact SUN was one of those testifying against Microsoft. A company that was formed illegally to begin with. Or Novell who was directly linked with the beginning of this all. You blow off IBM and you lose, then don't come whining to mommy later on.
