Doesn't solve the issue
Just citing the source is pretty much already done--anyone putting up a song online says who is performing it. Anyone putting up video usually says what it is and what show/movie it's from. Credit isn't the issue, it's that the viewer is getting something for free, something the copyright holder thinks they should be paying for.

The way to solve it is to set up blanket licensing fees. Everything that comes out gets licensed under the same terms, just like songs that get played on the radio. Then you could put things up on your site, pay a minimal fee (it could be included in your monthly subscription charges), and everyone wins.
