That's a complete falsehood. Other countries with much closer ties between their industries and their government can't understand (and therefore disbelieve) the separation in the US between the government and other aspects of the society. The US government doesn't control Pat Robertson, and the US government doesn't control IBM. You may have trouble understanding the concept of a society that isn't under the thumb of its government, but it exists nonetheless.

Study the US a little better next time.
