Or, I'm Guessing

That Google could be trying it's very best to stave off it's own "Long, Slow Death", as it's doing it's best to expand beyond it's core product, which as millions know, usually means that it's forseeing a possible loss in that area.

"Prophetic? Visonary"? No, I wouldn't sat that as
you actually have to be correct in your predictions, which in this case I'll go with the vast majority of people "in the know" who would disagree with you.
