How can they say with a straight face . . .?
How in the world can they say with a straight face that these things could have even the slightest impact on Microsoft Office?

Creating an office suite, web based or not, is gonna be very complex, and very few people have been able to do such a thing. I seriously doubt any of these "web 2.0" (misnomer of the year) things have even the fraction of the resources to adequately compete with Microsoft.

If OpenOffice.org is the equivalent of notepad (as I_pretend_I_have_no_ax_to_grid claims), then these things can barely do anything at all. Wanna try to edit your docs offline? Outta luck. Looking for Macros? Look somewhere else. Wanna create a fancy spreadsheet with pivot tables and charts? Forget it. I'm willing to that OpenOffice.org can do a whole lot more than any of these can, despite no_ax's constant ridicule.

If they can't even stand up against OpenOffice.org, then they have no chance at all against Microsoft Office.
