Good points
Where I work, the IT dept insisted that we store everything on the server, and nothing on our hard drive, so THEY could back it up for us. I only had to have one network interruption to convince me that apps and data should be stored locally. A backup on the server might be OK, but make sure nothing personal is there if you do that, it does belong to the company after all. wink

I would definitely opt for a free office program (Open Office or MS) instead of being tethered to a network.
