Easy to get rid of?
Ants will be around long after humans have left this rock. As for your comments about people being reluctant to have their documents hosted on a public server, for once you're right. There's a first time for everything. Of course, this means that they won't trust Microsoft to host their documents either, so they might as well forget about hosted Office. This is something that MS has been kicking around for a while now.

As for college students getting MS Office for free, maybe you should try actually going to college before making such a preposterous claim. I've yet to see a single college giving away Office. Those colleges who have signed agreements with Microsoft to distribute MS products to students, like Indiana University or Purdue University for example, charge something like $10 for a CDR copy of Office. Now maybe you consider $10 free. Most rational people only consider "free" free.
