Alot of CEO's really do "get it"
Remember: Google had very little of this until they went public, then when they got some money they created these place to work.

When they got some money.

Why did they not build this here years ago? Maybe the same reasons most other companies don't: They didn't have millions/billions to spend.

Google's way (and others that have been doing the same thing years before Google had) is not the only way to make for an enjoyable work place.

As for working in "suburbia land", Try getting "In The Zone" after dealing with the hassles of the city every morning.

I know quite a few people who left the high paying jobs in the city to work for companies located in surburbs as it's more enjoyable.

The building I myself work in is located on the bank of a river with beautiful views all around.

And no heavy traffic, to boot.
