the problem is when disreputable vendors do all they can to lure unsuspecting surfers to their site when they have no intention of going anywhere near such content.

reputable porn sites put a splash page notification up front so that surfers are forewarned.

i shouldn't get porn when i do a web search for the artist Carman. (but a spammer will make sure i do)

while they have a right to post their content, they should not impose on my right not to be free of it.

thus the need for legislation.
(because some people are unscrupulous enough to try to trick me into visiting them)
