15 Minutes to Infamy.
...you won't have to wait 15 minutes to download a 3 minute clip and have it play at crappy resolution.

No, your HP Media Center PC will spin its wheels for 15 minutes, cheerfully inform you "Windows Media Center Edition required" (even though it's a Media Center PC), attempt to download a critical ActiveX component which will then be flagged by HP's bundled Norton Internet Security firewall as a "dangerous component" and blocked. Just like it did for that technology reporter for the Washington Post.

"Plays for Sure," all right.

It could be worse. At least Microsoft will have to use tried-and-true delivery components on their vid site since 25% of their audience won't be using Internet Explorer and won't be able to deal with ActiveX nonsense (any so-called "developer" who would make their site ActiveX-dependent needs to be coated in bear grease, staked to the ground and then mauled by a pack of rabid Pomeranians).

No such luck if you've bought previously DRM'd Plays For Sure stuff and now want to move it to a Zune (see David Berlind's excellent article at a ZDNet Website near you). You're screwed for investing in Microsoft technology. Sorry, Charlie.
