My only question. Why?
I am curious as to what is Microsoft's business strategy these days. I would imagine that concentraing resources on Vista, fixing security issues, fixing patching issues and rewriting the that anomaly that is IE6 into IE7 would be getting as much resources and focus as possible. Instead every week we hear, Microsoft goes after such and such company/part of the market.

I swear it's almost as if the people at the top do nothing but check out the web and read the news and shout,

"Hey, this online video thing that we thought was rubbish is a good idea after all, let's make our own"

"Hey this blogging bs is taking off, let's make one of our own"

"Hey this search engine thing is taking off, let's make our own"

"Hey, this portable ipod rubbish is taking off, let's make our own"

Now I have no problem with a company diversifying but if its doing it at the expense of its bread and butter products then there is an issue. Maybe it would explain why so many products are slipping release dates? Because they are trying to get their fingers in every pie?
