Partners Duped
Microsoft's AJAX is but one more attach on Java. The business model was not unlike Active-X.

Here Microsoft partners like Sharidan? built controls that became almost required for Visual Basic projects. They sold these to developers like myself who then proceded to build Visual Basic applications that in the end had very little true Visual Basic in them but rather were Sheridan controls and SQL stored procedures.

The model also includes Delphi from Borland that was apparently used a lot in the building of Active-X controls. AJAX and Active-X both suffer in their use by hackers to infect.

Hence they are appropriate only in a Virtual envirionment and even here only on machines built in the last 6 months and possibly on those running Vista. There is a defect in X86 hardware that allows hackers to get outside of other Windows operating system products even when virtualized. Microsoft decided not to do what was done in Linux to remedy that defect and hence Intel and AMD had to correct the defect with a hardware technology shift - that being multi processor multicore.
