I know this is going to be far-fetched, but...
...maybe, just maybe the Mozilla Team is having a little bit of trouble getting Firefox 2.0 (and all of it's features) to function properly and usefully in that lower-end user mode in which Internet Explorer 7 functions in. That user mode was developed primarily for security, so Microsoft stands to lose if 12% of Vista users are using a browser that runs in Administrator mode, no?

Ah, that implies Microsoft is trying to mend their ways and be a little warmer to the open source community, a postulate that no one here is willing to accept without bandwidth-killing, grammarless ridicule.
