Ironic?
Let's take a look. Start with "capitalist". The internet as we know it was built on capitalism, the reason there are so many people that are able to view Wikipedia is capitalism (among other things).

"Plastic"? Let's face it, the number of web-editing-savvy computer users that don't have a card with a Visa or MasterCard logo on it has got to be just about statistacally insignificant. You make the mistake of equating credit/debit cards with debt, when many folks use them as conveniences. How many debt-free folks do you know that are both internet-savvy, as well as carry no plastic? Didn't think so. They all carry plastic, by choice. As an ATM card if nothing else, but it has a Visa logo on it.

Anyway, I'm not arguing that they should use plastic for this, I'm just saying it is not at all ironic for a tool that's an example of the best, worst, most optimistic, pathetically political, controversial content on the internet. (You weren't under the impression Wikipedia was all sunshine and roses, were you? It's as tainted as everything else on the net.)
