Microsoft doesn't have a good name, only a trademark.

The kid actually did have a good name, he was born with it, and thought it'd be cute to add soft at the end. After all, he did do software.

Then the 800 pound gorilla with a similar sounding name sent in the ambulance chasers and managed to buy themselves maybe $10 million worth of bad publicity. Another misstep by an arrogant monopoly.
