This reminds me of another company...

Holiday Inn, Inc.

They own, at last report, in excess of 10,000(!) domain names, and lost a lawsuit to acquire www.holiday.com, which belongs to a floral company.

They too used bully tactics to gobble up thousands of domain names, which they are now guilty of squatting on...the very thing they sued people for.

Microsoft had better be very, very careful. The word "Excel" is too commonly used to be a usable trademark, but that's not stopped these fools before. (The word "Windows" is also too general to be a usable trademark, yet they persist in trying to defend it by trying to put anyone who tries to challenge the validity of it in court out of business by filing dozens of lawsuits in as many countries as possible... (ever heard of Lindows, Inc. vs. Microsoft, Inc.? No? Check it at www.linspire.com and I guarantee it will make you reexamine any defensiveness you may feel toward Microsoft...
