Microsoft puts cybersquatters on notice
Good initiative by Microsoft. The last they need are people trying to use their good name with bad products and services. I see this as a way for Microsoft to defend its reputation and not let it be tainted by 3rd parties who may not live up to the Microsoft brand.

Microsoft also earned notoriety in 2004 over reports that it had threatened a 17-year-old Canadian student named Mike Rowe to turn over the domain name MikeRoweSoft.com

Yeah, leave out the part where it the kid was actually trying to make money off of Microsoft's name. I can't believe Microsoft went so easy on the guy.
