---By the very definition, history cannot be predictable but the future might be based on historical precedent, but it rarely is that simple---

As I remarked in my post, sadly, in this case history has repeated itself. Just as has happened time after time when a disruptive technology comes into play, the media moguls of the time first try to ban it, then go after users, then actually try to make a profit from the new technology, once they realize they can't turn back the clock. VCR, printing press, records, television, the player piano, it's the same cycle over and over again.

People like me eh? So you know me and my musical preferences? Would it surprise you to know that I don't patronize any of the music download services? It's less a matter of audiophile quality in my case (driving 80 MPH with the windows down, the difference between an MP3 and an AIFF/WAV is not noticeable in my car's system), but more an objection to DRM.
