This doesn't just apply to schools. This also applies to public libraries, and most public libraries do not differentiate between computers for teens and computers for everyone else.

Why should I as a library patron lose access to information and resources just because an idiot who has no idea how the Internet works thinks he needs to "think of the children"?

Besides, this doesn't just block access to Myspace and chat rooms. It also blocks access to powerful educational tools like wikis, if they require or even offer registration. It blocks access to homework help sites like brarydog because they give you the option of creating a profile.

This is a sledghammer being used to crack a nut for political reasons. It's an abuse of power.
