Feel good, no effect ...
People who respond like you do are the worst, because it actually does NOTHING to help children. The sad fact is that your child is statistically much more in danger from YOU THE PARENT than they are from the Internet.

Point 1: Most spam and porn sites ALREADY originate outside the US and outside the law. They could care less about this legislation. More waste of our MILLIONARE legislators' time.

Point 2: Spammers and porn vendors are SELLING things, they could care less about children without credit cards. And they could care less about stealing your kid.

Point 3: The majority of child molesters are parents or relatives of the victim. While the "MySpace" thing gets all the attention, it is a miniscule fraction of the problem.

In days gone by, my church provided a lot of useful help to prevent problems like child abuse. Youth programs, counseling, and just plain being involved with families helped spot and prevent potential problems. BUT NOW, our pastor and deacons send away OUR funds to right-wing political action groups, and wasting everbody's time railing against the "demonic" Internet.

It's enough to make me sick about the so-called intelligence of Americans.
