That is wrong on so many levels
Consider the case of the couple in which (as I recall) the woman (girl?) was old enough to be married in one State and not another. So, with parental permission, they went to the other State and were married.
On return, the husband, who was also in his teens, was arrested and convicted for statutory rape.

Everything that you say about impositions on felons must be applied to this husband. His conviction will be damaging for the rest of his life.


Is it any wonder that people have no faith in the "justice" system whatsoever?
