Have YOU ever read Shakespeare?
NOnlawyers are famous for taking a line out of context, and insisting their extremely narrow interpretation represents the whole picture. If you read part 2 of Henry VI, the context in which this line is spoken, is that Dick the Butcher, is a follower of Jack Cade, an anarchist, whom Shakespeare describes as "the head of an army of rabble and a demagogue pandering to the ignorant" who tries to overthrow the government.

The idea is that if you want to overthrow a government, create anarchy, and abolish individual rights, the first thing any potential despot needs to do to eliminate human rights is to "kill all the lawyers".

Fast forward to the present - so....you would advocate killing or discrediting persons like Abraham Lincoln, Clarence Darrow, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, John Quincy Adams, Andrew Jackson - recognize these names? Where did you think our Constitution, the Bill of Rights, the Magma Carta, etc. came from? These documents were drafted by lawyers, certainly not by idiots like you! I certainly hope that next time someone hurts you by putting a dangerous product on the market, steals your money, harrasses you or your family, or accuses you of doing something you did not do, and you go running to find a lawyer to sue, he or she somehow discovers your enlightened views, and refuses to represent you!

This would really be poetic justice. And please make sure you read and understand Shakespeare before quoting it!
