For now, the glass is half full
You won't catch me defending Microsoft for any of their obvious abuses and excesses, but for now I'm not in any rush to negatively prejudge their efforts in this particular endeavor. In principle, the concept seems sound.

Yeah, I know...implementation is everything, and Microsoft's track record for implementation in such matters is hardly unimpeachable. Nevertheless, the white papers are well researched and substantive. The jury's still out on Microsoft's implementation, but the research is valuable and could be used by anyone who is interested in being a part of the solution rather than interminably b!tching about the problem.
