The old Microsoft...
would've bundled Windows Live Messenger with Windows Vista, turned away any chance at interoperability, and gone after OEMs that installed competing messengers.

The current Microsoft has WLM separate from Vista (not even plain old Windows Messenger is in Vista), is interoperating with major competitor Yahoo, and treats OEMs fairly.

Looks like they have changed a bit.
