- Hey Greg, check it out...

Everybody likes a good show...but the bottom line to success for anybody who wants to provide pay to view content is going to have to band together and get serious about ERADICATING companies and service providers who have shady business practices.
Consumers like myeslf have HAD IT with being taken for a ride by one con after another. They've HAD IT with having to have new debit/credit cards issued, and the old numbers killed as stolen; due to the fact that companies like AOL, PAYPAL, EBAY, WLI RESERVATION REWARDS, CLASSMATES.COM ok sorry for yelling but the list is endless (you can get a better idea by visitng the ripoffreport).
I quit using checks altogether about 10 years ago, after having learned that was one way banks make their money (we're not gonna talk about U.S. Banks habit of taking people on mortgages that's a whole nother story), but now it's gotten to the point that you're taking A MASSIVE RISK ANYTIME you give ANYBODY your CC info online.
Businesses that DO in fact take care of customer data and don't let iut be abused are paying the price for those who have made their money (and CONTINUE to make their money due to the seemingly federally accepted practice of "gigging") people with TOS and privacy policy fine print tactics.
Until I SEE A WHOLE LOTTA online companies BURN, trust is gone, and it's never going to return. I know some of you are already fighting the impulse to respond and start hammering your keyboards about witchhunts and eradicating competition and creating perfect coinditions for monopolies and all that; but somethings going to have to change if certain players on the market want to get any ROI anytime soon if at all...it's not small businesses fault this situation has been created but that's the way it is.
Maybe someday I'll not be afraid to give someone my card number again, but today; I don't give it to NOBODY! Neither does my wife. She might be the master in other areas but she's learned her lesson too, when it comes to buying stuff online. - Posted by: yogeee Posted on: 07/12/06 You are currently: a Guest | Members login | Terms of Use
