Even if this is the case...
Like the poster above, I haven't seen any evidence of Google admitting they blackballed this site.

But even if they did, so what? What obligation do they have, as a company, to be fair, to provide other companies with support for their business? I'm assuming, No Ax, that you're on Google's side here, as you usually take the side of the corporation that is trying to control its own business internally, rather than letting outside parties dictate the design and function of the product (well, except in the case of DRM and the broadcast flag, where you want control taken away from electronics manufacturers).

Why shouldn't Google be able to control the results presented by their own product? If they're bad or rigged, or biased, that's certainly their right (just as MS can rank MS-owned sites higher in their search results). In the long run, the market will correct anything like this as the site becomes less usable, and people move to alternatives.
