Decent micro-payment system
Despire the spectre of a pay-per-view web, we NEED a micro-payment system, and Google is one of the few companies who could actually make it happen.

The ability to -- easily -- charge a few cents for a music track, video clip, or digital comic book could independent content producers get a foot in the door.

When we pay $.99 for an iTunes track, 10c goes to the artist; the rest goes to all the middlemen. What if that artist could sell his own music for 10c with a micro-payment system? Buying music would become much more of a no-brainer (especially if the artist was savvy enough to avoid DRM and release the music as MP3 or FLAC).
