Needed by who?
You still haven't explained how this will stop piracy or p2p in any way whatsoever. So who really needs this? What is the point?

Is it needed to increase sales of dvd's and tv show downloads? Certainly. Is it needed to reduce our ability to use our television sets the way we want to? Certainly.

Funny how insistent you can be when the government steps in and tells an entire industry exactly how they have to design their products at the behest of another smaller industry. Yet when small players like Real or Sun have the government step in and tell MS how they have to design their product, how it has to work, you throw a conniption fit. You still haven't explained this apparent hypocrisy.
