---That is the nature of every law on the books.---

Sorry, no. Every law on the books does not punish the innocent. Rape laws do not prevent me from my usual law-abiding sexual activities. Murder laws punish murderers, they do not take away rights from those who haven't murdered anyone. Your proposed laws are so bad that not only do they punish the innocent, they fail to punish or stop criminal activity.

Let me say this as clearly as possible:

The broadcast flag has nothing to do with piracy or p2p. It's an attempt to drive revenue by taking away law-abiding consumers' ability to space shift and time shift content. It's an attempt to force you to have to buy content as a download or on a disc instead of taping it off the air yourself. That's the entire reason for the broadcast flag. End of story.
