So let them walk away
---And that way provides a profit incentive and without it there is absolutely no reason on this earth to do it---

Again, you are assuming that there's some inherent right for people to profit off of using the public's airwaves. There isn't. Use of the airwaves should be set up entirely in favor of the society that owns them. If, at that point, you can find a way to profit from using them, fine, go right ahead. If not, we'll live without you. It shouldn't be up to the public to bend over backward to, as you put it, "provide a profit incentive." All the public should be worried about is their own usage, and the creation of and preservation of a cultural heritage (which the broadcast flag will help destroy).

Companies need to learn to live in the real world, and not beg for charity from their customers or the government. The technology for copying and sharing exists, it will never go away, nor will piracy. Learn to profit despite it, or better yet, learn to profit from it, or go the way of the dinosaur.

How come you hate it when Real and Sun ask the government to step in on their behalf and give them MS' IP, yet you love it when NBC and Warner Bros. ask the government to step in on their behalf and give them the public's cultural heritage?
