Is a Search and Destroy Robot a Virus?
This is what happens when uninformed and non-technical people try to solve technical problems.
A search and destroy program/bot is against the law right now. It is virtually the same reasoning as when a technical person launches an attack against the computer that attacked his computer.
We have some very conflicting premises here and someone needs to get control of defining what the real problem is and how to intelligently approach the problem for a viable solution.
This article opens up a lot of worms that need to be put back in the can and rethought out.
There are enough intelligent technical people that will defeat whatever measure is put in place, just because it is a challenge.
It is scary to here that paraphrased "The Innocent have nothing to fear" ... no matter how you cut it, spying on people and watching them surf the Internet is bound to trap some people in some kind of trap that was not intended to catch them in, not just child porn surfers.
I just sense a lot of "computer aerobics" and "legal aerobics" they all sound great, but they still do nothing about the problem.
