- Competition will keep things in line
- The RIAA is in direct competition with pirate downloads via a wide array of services. If the price goes up then people just get thier tunes the illegal way. If prices go down for older music they will probably sell more older music while new music is avoided in favor of CDs and P2P downloads. All Apple is doing is protecting thier business model. They don't want to go down with the RIAA refuses to compete with P2P. Legal or no that's what will happen and people like No_Axe can cry thief and immoral all they want, the market will speak for itself.
