Legal Means?
The MPAA knowingly employed as a contractor a hacker. They reviewed the information gathered, which would also obviously indicated the source of the information. They then paid the contractor. Including a clause requiring legal means does not change the fact that they clearly had knowledge of the actual means by which their contract was fulfilled, and were happy with this in that they paid up.
If I contacted a contract killer and asked him to remove a person from the scene who was causing me problems, and he then did so by illegal means. If I paid up knowing the means employed, would I be any less guilty because I had asked him to use only legal methods at the beginning?
